Again, we send out much love to everyone who has been and is affected by the Quakes in Canterbury, which are making themselves far too at home in the Red n Black world. As time keeps ticking, and things keep shaking, very understandably, events begin to take their toll.
If we can say anything to help, it would be that while you may be experiencing the shaking alone, you do not have to recover alone.
Already, I have been reminded this morning about how the team at Telecom are making sure they offer all the practical help possible to get telecommunications services up and running, which is what is so needed as many seek to put their lives back together!
Recently I was given an insight into how this has affected the All Blacks squad, as I read the words of All Blacks Assistant Coach, Steve Hansen, who spoke about his mad rush home after the Big One hit at 4.35am, Saturday Morning, and about the aftermath, involving picking up the pieces of what was once a family home. Having the option to stay in Christchurch over the weekend, he was informed that he should go, however, he was told in no uncertain terms that he’d better make it worth the while!
This Saturday Night, the Boys in All Black have even more motivation to perform for a land longing under a white cloud, and in particular for one province on top of a shaking fault-line or two.
It is with this in mind that we announce our final “Pick the Score” COMPETITION in this year’s Tri-Nations/ Bledisloe Cup Season. Yes, the End of Year Tour awaits, but we may have shaken our booty all the way to Tasmania by then… We’d Still Never Join You, Nation of the Wobbly!
When the All Blacks turned out the lights on South Africa, Soweto-style, the final score was only ONE POINT out from Mangler’s pick, so he was the WINNER, WINNER of, The Tri-Nations BackingBlack Member Mystery Prize Pack, which his wife was very excited about… as you would!
This Saturday Night, We Are Picking It Again!
Here’s what you must do to enter…
1] Pick the Final Score of the Wobblies vs All Blacks, Bledisloe Cup [Blediswoe for the Jersey of Bling] and Tri-Nations [Ours as well] International, Live and Exclusive from Sydney, Australia, on Saturday night.
2] You must also pick how many tries the All Blacks will score [even if you think the Sun Stealers will win], and who will be the first All Black try-scorer. These two choices will be used as tie-breakers, if needed!
3] You can only enter once!
4] You must do so BEFORE KICK-OFF, with my comment signalling that you are out of time!
and…
5] As a really small sign of our affection for our Canterbury crew, there will be ONE prize pack, ONLY for all those from the Canterbury area, with another prize pack for everyone else!
6] Which is why, as a means of identifying our Canterbury crew, we want EVERYONE who makes a comment to tell us where they are from. YES, EVERYONE who is picking the score! Be as specific as you want… Okay, maybe not your Street Name and Number, but let us know, for example, what suburb in Auckland, you call home!
Pick Well, Family of the Blackness!
In a post that will be with you sooner than later, we also want to send a message to all those going to the match, encouraging you to fame BackingBlack / All Blacks, thereby allowing us to fame you on this site, in return.
This is Coming, So Please Do Not Adjust Your Sets.
We were able to hit 100 comments in the last competition, so let’s see if we can not best this figure with a new season’s best!
Come On BackingBlack Members, there is nothing to lose!
If you’ve already forgotten 6 rules of how to enter: stop, drop, and roll… then… have a read again, so that you don’t have a George Gregan on Jeff Wilson moment… It makes sense!
Also, don’t forget, Our Tweet will be on as well!
Until Next Time
